Clove root – Syzygium aromaticum.
 
Plant with a very characteristic smell and taste. It is an ideal spice added to cooking rice, sauces, desserts or preparing warming infusions. Including mulled beer or wine. It is strongly aromatic and sharp in taste. It grows wild in the Moluccas, and is cultivated in countries with an equatorial climate, mainly in the Malay Peninsula, Zanzibar and Madagascar.

Clove oil is used in the pharmaceutical industry, Ayurvedic, Chinese and traditional Western medicine. It has antiseptic, stimulating, relaxing and analgesic effects. Cloves are chewed in inflammation of the throat, mouth and toothaches.
