Truck height record – When on the steep slope of the Ojos del Salado volcano, Matthias Jeschke turns off the engine, the GPS shows 6675 meters above sea level. Never before has a truck reached such a height – it is a new world record. The oxygen content in the air here is about 50% lower than in the valleys. What makes the efficiency of the engine and driver relentlessly decreases with every meter. The air becomes rarer. An adventurer, his team and their Zetros 4×4 vehicle, built to special order by Mercedes-Benz. They have fourteen days and nights of climbing behind them, or, more accurately, climbing to the top. To be able to reach that far, Jeschke, who is an engineer, worked for almost a year with a 11-tonne car.
