Primary Mental Abilities – Variety of independent skills

Primary Mental Abilities – Louis Thurstone (1887-1955) believed that using factor analysis can uncover a variety of independent skills. He called it the basic mental abilities (Primary Mental Abilities, PMA), and created a special test to measure them (PMA test). He appointed six basic mental abilities: understanding words, verbal fluency, the ability of numerical, reasoning ability, memory and perceptual speed.
